What is a control arm?

The control arm (a.k.a. wishbone or track arm) is the critical suspension link that keeps your wheel aligned and the tire flat on the road.  It absorbs braking, cornering and impact loads while allowing the wheel to move up and down.  Most common failure point: the in-board rubber-bushing eye. Fatigue cracks start here because the arm must twist millions of cycles under shock load—exactly why the material choice matters.
