The 2025 China Foundry Industry Annual Event Report includes "The Current Situation, Problems and Trends of ADI in my country" and "The Development and Application of ADI Materials in Automobile Subframe Products".

From July 9 to 11, 2025, the annual event of China's foundry industry - 2025 China Cast Iron Annual Conference and Isothermal Quenching Castings Annual Conference was successfully held at the Buckingham Hotel in Changzhou, Jiangsu. This annual meeting was hosted by the China Foundry Association and co-organized by the China Foundry Association Cast Iron Working Committee and Isothermal Quenching Castings Working Committee. It attracted more than 220 representatives from more than 110 units across the country to discuss the digital transformation and high-end development path of the cast iron industry. 

Focus on three major themes and lead technological innovation

This annual meeting takes "high-performance cast iron, digital technology, and lean production management" as the core topics, and carefully sets up 30 special reports, covering a wide range of cutting-edge fields such as new material research and development, process breakthroughs, and intelligent equipment applications. 

Among them, the "Application of Silicon Solid Solution Strengthened Ductile Iron in the Wind Power Field" shared by experts from the Zhengzhou Mechanical Research Institute of China Machinery Academy has attracted much attention. Through composition optimization and heat treatment process innovation, the study increased the tensile strength of the material by 20%, successfully breaking through the performance bottleneck of traditional cast iron in extreme environments, and providing new ideas for the high-performance development of wind power castings. 

During the meeting, two group standards were officially released. "Ductile Iron Castings for Worm Gear Shafts for Photovoltaic Solar Energy" standardizes the performance indicators of key components of new energy equipment and fills the gap in industry standards; "Technical Requirements for Centrifugal Casting Pin Bushings for Excavator Buckets" proposes more stringent manufacturing specifications for wear-resistant parts of engineering machinery, helping domestic equipment to benchmark international brands in terms of reliability, and effectively promoting the construction of industry standardization. 

The annual meeting specially set up a corporate exhibition area, where more than 30 suppliers displayed innovative products such as new spheroidizing agents, 3D printing sand molds, and online spectrometers, providing the industry with a rich platform for technical exchanges and product docking. 

In addition, the meeting arranged many research institutes and well-known companies to give special reports, which were rich and substantial, making the meeting more substantial. The report topics include "The Current Situation, Problems and Trends of ADI in my country", "Application of Silicon Solid Solution Strengthened Ferrite Ductile Iron in Wind Power Castings", "Mass Application and Expansion Research of High-Strength and High-Plasticity Ductile Iron Materials", "Longfengshan High-Purity Pig Iron Promotes the High-Quality Development of ADI in my country", "Development and Application of ADI Materials in Automobile Subframe Products", "Mass Production and Application of Vermicular Graphite Cast Iron Steel Body for Large Ships", "Chemical Composition Design and Casting Structure of ADI", "Performance Differences of ADI Grinding Balls with Different Casting Processes", etc., which comprehensively and deeply discuss the hot issues and development trends of the industry. 

Face the challenges and move towards a new stage of global competition

Zhang Zhiyong, Executive Vice President of China Foundry Association, pointed out in his opening speech: "The current cast iron industry faces the dual challenges of the 'dual carbon' goal and the localization of high-end equipment. It must reconstruct the production logic through digitalization and improve the quality and efficiency through lean management." This view points out the direction for the development of the industry. 

Under the wave of digitalization and high-end development, China's cast iron industry is actively responding to challenges and accelerating the pace of transformation and upgrading. The successful holding of this annual meeting not only built a high-end platform for technical exchanges and cooperation for the industry, but also gathered industry consensus and stimulated innovation. With the promotion and application of various new technologies and new standards, China's cast iron industry is moving towards a new stage of global competition and is expected to occupy a more advantageous position in the global market.
